Becoming Grounded in Truth and Stillness
Week 1: ROOT - Becoming Grounded
We're learning to stop. To get honest. To get rooted.
Most men in Stillness carry hidden weight. We've been moving through life but haven't slowed down to face where we really are. That changes today.
Structured daily modules that guide you through root recognition, foundation checking, and stillness practice.

Section 1: Root Recognition
Today marks the beginning of your journey into stillness and self-discovery. Most men carry patterns, beliefs, and lies that operate beneath the surface—shaping decisions, relationships, and identity without our conscious awareness.
This week, we're not rushing to fix anything. We're simply learning to see what's there. To acknowledge what's been hidden. To face what we've been avoiding.
Root recognition is the practice of identifying the foundational patterns and beliefs that shape our lives. Like roots beneath a tree, these patterns are often invisible but profoundly influential.
Many men operate from roots that were planted by:
These roots don't just influence our behavior—they often become our behavior. We react, decide, and live from these underground patterns without realizing it.
Use your workbook for main reflections. These digital spaces are for additional notes.
Find 10 minutes today to sit in silence and ask yourself:
"Where am I rooted right now?"
Don't try to fix anything. Don't force an answer. Just sit with the question and notice what surfaces.
What's one pattern or belief you've identified today that's been operating underground?
Head to the Community tab in Skool to share your insights and read what others are discovering.
Section 1: Root Recognition (Continued)
Yesterday, you began identifying the patterns and beliefs operating beneath the surface. Today, we go deeper into the weight of what remains unspoken.
Silence isn't always peace. Sometimes, silence is the heaviest burden we carry—the things we refuse to name, the truths we won't speak, the pain we keep buried.
Many men have been taught that strength means silence. That real men don't talk about their struggles, their doubts, their fears. But this kind of silence doesn't make us strong—it makes us isolated.
The weight of silence manifests as:
Today is about recognizing what you've been carrying in silence—not to force you to speak it all at once, but to acknowledge its weight.
Use your workbook for main reflections. These digital spaces are for additional notes.
Find 10 minutes today to sit in silence and ask yourself:
"What am I afraid to say out loud?"
You don't have to say it yet. Just acknowledge it in the silence.
What's one truth you've been carrying in silence that you're ready to acknowledge?
Share in the Community tab. Your honesty might give someone else permission to be honest too.
Complete this after Day 2 or Day 3
This bonus exercise is one of the most powerful tools in the Stillness Season. It's designed to help you identify the core lies you've been believing about yourself, your worth, and your identity.
What lie have you been believing about yourself? This might be something like:
Where did this lie come from? When did you first start believing it?
How has this lie shaped your life? Your decisions? Your relationships?
What is the truth that counters this lie? What does God say about you?
Completing this bonus task earns you the "Truth Speaker" badge.
This badge represents your courage to name the lie and speak the truth.
If you feel comfortable, share the lie you identified and the truth that counters it. Your vulnerability might help someone else break free.
Section 2: Foundation Check (Days 3-4)
You've identified underground patterns and acknowledged the weight of silence. Now it's time to examine the foundation your life is built on.
Every man builds his life on something—whether consciously or unconsciously. The question is: What are you building on?
Your foundation is what you return to in crisis, what you build your identity on, what you trust when everything else fails.
Many men unknowingly build their lives on:
These foundations may hold for a while, but they crumble under pressure. Today is about honestly assessing what you've been building on.
Use your workbook for main reflections. These digital spaces are for additional notes.
Find 10 minutes today to sit in silence and ask yourself:
"What am I building my life on?"
Be honest. God already knows the answer—this is for your awareness.
What foundation have you been building on, and what do you want to shift toward?
Section 2: Foundation Check (Continued)
Yesterday, you examined your foundation. Today, we confront one of the most common ways men avoid dealing with that foundation: busyness.
Busyness isn't just about having a full schedule. It's often a strategy—a way to avoid stillness, avoid reflection, avoid the uncomfortable truths that surface when we slow down.
Many men stay busy because stillness feels dangerous. In the quiet, we might have to confront:
Busyness gives us a sense of purpose and productivity, but it can also keep us from the deeper work of transformation.
Use your workbook for main reflections. These digital spaces are for additional notes.
Find 10 minutes today to sit in silence and ask yourself:
"What am I running from?"
Notice the urge to fill the silence. Resist it. Stay present.
How has busyness functioned as an escape in your life? What are you committing to slow down for?
Section 3: Silence Practice (Days 5-6)
You've identified patterns, examined your foundation, and confronted busyness. Now comes the practice that ties it all together: entering stillness.
Stillness isn't emptiness. It's presence. It's the practice of being fully here, fully aware, fully open to God and truth.
Stillness is a discipline—a learned practice of quieting the noise (internal and external) and creating space to hear God, to know yourself, and to be known.
In stillness, we:
Today is about intentionally practicing stillness—not as a one-time event, but as a way of life.
Complete these AFTER your stillness practice today.
Today, extend your stillness practice to 20 minutes.
Find a quiet place. Set a timer. Sit in silence. Don't pray, don't read, don't think—just be still and present. Notice what comes up without judging it.
What did you experience during your extended stillness practice? What surprised you?
Section 3: Silence Practice (Continued)
Yesterday, you practiced extended stillness. Today, we process what surfaced.
When we create space for stillness, things rise to the surface—emotions, memories, truths, convictions. Some of it is beautiful. Some of it is painful. All of it is important.
Stillness isn't about suppressing what comes up—it's about acknowledging it, naming it, and bringing it before God.
What might surface in stillness:
Today is about honoring what surfaced and discerning what to do with it.
Use your workbook for main reflections. These digital spaces are for additional notes.
Continue with 20 minutes of stillness today. Ask:
"What do You want me to see, God?"
Pay attention to what keeps coming back to your mind. That's often what needs attention.
What surfaced for you this week that you need to address? How are you planning to move forward?
Section 4: Integration & Next Steps
You've made it through the week. You've faced what's underground, examined your foundation, confronted busyness, and practiced stillness. Today is about integration—bringing it all together.
This isn't the end. It's the beginning of a new way of living—rooted in truth, grounded in stillness, and anchored in God.
This week, you've uncovered patterns, lies, and foundations that have been shaping your life. You've also discovered what it means to be still and present.
Today is about naming your root revelation—the core insight or truth that emerged this week.
These are the most important questions of the week. Take your time.
Spend 20 minutes in stillness today. Bring your root revelation before God.
Ask: "What do You want me to do with this, Lord?"
Listen. Receive. Trust.
Congratulations on completing the ROOT week of Stillness Season. This is just the beginning.
What's next?
Share your root revelation and your commitment for the week ahead. Celebrate with the community!
